CAPIC & CPD Events

CAPIC is proud to meet all your Continuing Professional Development needs. Our education program boasts over 50 CPD hours and over 25 events on a yearly basis, catering to both our French and English members. While ICCRC mandates 16 hours of CPD per year for licensing requirements, we go out of our way to provide a range of events that will enhance and bolster your professional knowledge, so that you remain up-to-date and competitive. Within an ever-evolving industry, a limit should never be placed on learning.

If our events were only geared toward learning and CPD, members would miss the networking element that is so vital to immigration consulting. That’s why we make sure to include plenty of time for networking and peer-to-peer mentoring, practical tips and applications, panel sessions and hands-on learning, and interactive question and answer sessions. A commitment to innovation in education always informs our approach to planning events. With access to a broad range of events, from seminars, workshops, lunch and learns, podcasts, and more, CAPIC members are informed from the very beginning!

CPD Tips:

If CPD hours have been accorded to an event, please remember that you must report your hours, especially for events you view online or by video. Below are links to the CPD reporting form and instructions, including the most recent CPD rules.

CPD Reporting Form

CPD Certification Form

As a courtesy CAPIC forwards your in-person attendance to ICCRC.  It is recommended you also forward proof of your attendance and CPD hours to the regulator and further allow them three weeks to post the hours to your CPD hours. ICCRC CPD regulations state that:

15. 1   A Member is responsible for reporting his/her CPD hours by submitting the required Reporting Form together with any supporting documentation. A Provider, offering to report CPD hours on behalf of participants, does not relieve the responsibility of a Member to ensure his/her CPD hours have been properly reported.

Full CPD regulations are at this link -

Ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure the CPD hours have been forwarded and credited to your account!

To report your CPD hours, please complete the CPD Reporting Form and CPD Certification Form, and mail the completed forms along with a copy of the seminar agenda and the receipt to the ICCRC at 5500 North Service Road, Suite 1002, Burlington, ON, Canada L7L 6W6.

Finally, don’t forget that CAPIC launches its popular Bundle program in January of each year, a service that is reserved exclusively for CAPIC members. For a very reasonable price, you can access CAPIC’s range of seminars for that calendar year to meet your CPD needs. Our Bundle sale ends on April 30 of each year, so be sure to sign up between January and April! The only event not included are specialized workshops and our signature and highlight event of the year – the National Citizenship & Immigration Conference.

We remind CAPIC members and RCICs to be sure to view education events within the allotted time for the assigned CPD hours. This is very important because education events in 2018 will not be extended past the original validity period by the ICCRC.

Due to ever-changing immigration law and legislation, CAPIC strives to keep RCICs up-to-date with new seminars, workshops, outstanding panels at the NCIC (in October), as well as other relevant innovative education activities. Our expired CPD events can still be reviewed in our Education Corner, where you can profit from the knowledge on offer. Just remember that those events have expired! The bonus is on you to watch or attend events within the allotted time. This is important for Bundle subscribers.
